WELCOME!
David Park is a Bronx Native and has been playing drums since he was 11. He continues to explore many aspects of the art from Progressive to Polynesian. His style is inspired by several influences from his middle school days that includes Stewart Copeland and Neil Peart. David believes their particular approaches to drumming, although polarizing in philosophy, make for a formidable mix of spirit and technicality. David has always believed in what he calls the first law of drumming: The music comes first. Playing in a number of cover bands has shown him that the interpretations to a particular song can be endless. It is important that a drummer not only keep time but to adapt to the feel of the song to form a seamless meld with the other instruments. This can be accomplished without having to mirror the original song note for note, as long as it embodies the song's general feel. This is where the technicality portion has its place. In order to acquire proficiency in speed and accuracy, it is important to explore as many different styles of drumming as one can absorb. This begins with the basics, and rudiments are key. David believes it is equally important that a drummer serves not only as the mere timekeeper, but to make as deep a musical impression as he can while keeping the song musical. David possesses a particular style that proves that it is possible to not only play well with the other instruments but to make for a memorable song with simple yet tasty groves and well placed fills. Simplicity in style is key, then apply technique and chops wherever it is called for. David's unique brand of experience makes for a style of drumming that sways from the ordinary.
THE LATEST
Rerecorded, remixed and remastered. Updated with a new look and sound and now on sale at Amazon Music and Apple Music!

This newly updated 2021 edition of Alien Sun is a marked improvement in sound quality from its 2007 predecessor. When the first version of Alien Sun was recorded, it was done on a portable recording unit with limited capabilities and released as a demo of sorts. But now with so many options for improving on some already great songs, I thought it was time to freshen up the sound by taking it to a more robust recording environment and making it a more complete album. Going into the discography section you will hear a noted difference between the two versions. The 2021 reboot seems slightly lower in volume than its 2007 counterpart but considerably easier on the ears as many of the audio issues heard in the first version were fixed in the new one. One of the most enjoyable aspects of rebooting this group of songs was rerecording the drums in every song. Swing on by the discography section and give the tracks a listen. Hope you enjoy!
Is it easy to build a YouTube site? In all honesty I'd say yes it is. What's not easy is getting a gazillion views. However it doesn't make it any less of a fun project performing some of my favorite tunes on camera for the world, or at least part of the world to enjoy. Here I play a few Police and Dream Theater covers and some of my own works. Check out the Video link or my YouTube channel and subscribe.
TIME FLIES
